A&T Chevrolet-Subaru Continues to Drive Away the Cold

Children outgrow their winter coats every year. Imagine if a new coat, or even a thrift store bargain, wasn’t in the budget. A&T Chevrolet, in partnership with the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation, is Driving Away the Cold by providing new winter coats to the Bucks County Opportunity Council (BCOC) to be distributed to local children in need. A&T Chevrolet is a longtime participant of this program, this year donating 90 coats.

Jeff Allen, A&T Chevrolet-Subaru president, presents BCOC development director Joseph Cuozzo with 90 winter coats
Later that same day, we helped the Upper Bucks YMCA receive their donations of hundreds of winter coats for their clients. It was great to see our Auto Dealers Caring for Kids friends again!

Started in 2008 by the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation, Driving Away the Cold is a philanthropic initiative with one important mission: to provide new winter coats to underprivileged children living in the five-county region of Philadelphia. This year, 177 local auto dealers and the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation are donating more than 42,000 brand-new coats. Since the program’s inception, the Foundation has warmed both the bodies and souls of over 220,000 area children in need. A&T Subaru Donates 150 Science Reading Books to Souderton Area School District Elementary Students

In the children’s science book, “Danger! Volcanoes” by Seymour Simon, students are given a first person experience of being on the edge of an erupting volcano. “Sisters and Brothers” by Robin Page and Steve Jenkins, teaches children the value of sibling relationships in the animal world and in the students’ lives. “Parrots over Puerto Rico” by Cindy Trumbore and Susan L. Roth brings the story of Puerto Rico’s history – including that of its wildlife – to life in vivid color. These are just a few of the books making up the 150 book donation recently we recently provided to elementary students in the Souderton Area School District.

A&T Subaru is carrying out the mission of Subaru Loves Learning by donating 150 science reading books to the elementary school students of the Souderton Area School District. It’s all part of the Subaru Love Promise, a pledge to do right by the communities we serve; a promise to make a positive impact in the world by focusing on improving our neighborhoods and communities.

A&T Subaru president Jeff Allen presents the Subaru Loves Learning book donation to EMC Elementary School Principal Tamara M. Callahan and EMC students from grades 2-5.

This Subaru Loves Learning book donation is a program designed to donate outstanding, prize-winning books to schools with the goal of engaging young learners in the world of science and inspire them to want to learn more. These books are designed to supplement existing curriculum by supporting K-12 science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education, while also helping to build reading and literacy skills.

All books have been awarded the AAAS/Subaru SB&F Prize for Excellence in Science Books. This prize celebrates outstanding science writing and illustration for children and young adults. The prizes are meant to encourage the writing and publishing of high-quality science books for all age groups. To support classroom learning, the AAAS also publishes classroom-ready, standards-based lesson plans that help teachers integrate these outstanding books into their teaching.

We hope the kids love their new books!

A&T Chevrolet Goes to Bat with Pennridge Little League with Chevy Youth Baseball Equipment Donation

L-R: Dave Reiss, Pennridge Little League president; Jeff Allen, A&T Chevrolet president;

We're continuing our commitment to our community and the teamwork taught through youth sports by supporting Pennridge Little League through the Chevy Youth Baseball Program. This year the program provided Pennridge Little League with seven dozen baseballs, six batting T’s and two sets of Rawlings Umpire Equipment.

Chevy Youth Baseball is a grassroots initiative that establishes a positive relationship between local dealers and the communities they serve. Because of our commitment to this program, youth baseball participants will once again have the chance to attend a youth clinic with the Philadelphia Phillies.

Our president, Jeff Allen, said it best: “This is one of our favorite programs. We fully support the spirit of Pennridge Little League. Their main concern is to give our children a positive experience of fun and development through the game of baseball. We’re just happy to be able to help.”

In addition to the equipment donation, we are also a proud team sponsor and are looking forward to once again driving the Opening Day Parade dignitaries in our finest vehicles.
