They Lived. Subaru = Safety

You may be familiar with this commercial from Subaru of America, Inc., showing  the wreckage of a Subaru and the family the car protected.  The spot is based on letters from Subaru customers.  Now you can see the extent of Subaru's safety measures via this life-size display in the A&T Subaru showroom.

It's amazing to see this depiction of damage and reassuring to know that...they lived.

Maybe you've had the good fortune to never have to change a car tire on the side of the road. Just in case, here's a handy how-to. Print if out and keep it in your glove box. Just in case.

A&T Chevrolet Celebrates 30th Anniversary with Brand New Look

February 10, 1984. President Reagan was running for re-election, the price of gas was $1.21 per gallon and an auto dealership on Bethlehem Pike in Sellersville was having its first official day of business as A&T Chevrolet.

“A&T” stands for Allen & Thompson. The “Allen” is current owner and president, Bruce Allen and the “Thompson” is Jack Thompson, the original owner of A&T. Bruce Allen, then the general manager of Thompson Toyota, managed the operations of A&T Chevrolet and within a few years purchased the dealership from Thompson.

Chevrolet has had a presence in the Pennridge area since the 1940s. Baum Chevrolet started out in Perkasie and moved to A&T Chevrolet’s current 801 Bethlehem Pike, Sellersville, location in the 1950s. Shortly after the move from Perkasie, Baum Chevrolet was sold to Clint Liverman and remained as Liverman Chevrolet until 1984, when A&T Chevrolet came to be.

A true family business, Bruce Allen’s son, Jeff, joined A&T in 1990 and began running A&T Subaru when that dealership was added in 1991. Jeff Allen currently serves as vice president of A&T Chevrolet-Subaru, ensuring that the family’s automotive legacy and commitment to community will continue for years to come.

A&T Chevrolet is celebrating their milestone 30th anniversary with an eye on the future by renovating the entire property.

“Quality service to our customers, the people who are our neighbors and friends, has made us what we are today,” said A&T Chevrolet president, Bruce Allen, “and now we’re taking that to new heights.”

Literally. The refurbished A&T Chevrolet building will have two stories, including an enlarged showroom, a drive-up service entrance and spacious customer waiting lounge.

“This is the third renovation to the property,” added Allen, “and by far the most extensive. Everything we’re doing is to better serve our customers.”

Construction is expected to take six months, with completion expected in June 2014. In the meantime, it’s business as usual as far as the staff of A&T Chevrolet is concerned. Even though the office, sales team, and service advisors will be working out of the temporary trailers set up on the property, customers can expect the same level of excellence.

“We are 100% open for business during the construction,” said Allen. “Come see us now for a great deal and then come back and visit later this year during the official 30th Anniversary celebration and Open House.” This celebration is expected to take place in early summer.
